Q: Who must register for a User Name and Password for tropical.com?

A: All customers must register to access secure areas of tropical.com.

n       Registration is necessary for any customer who wants to book or track shipments, print Bills of Lading or view Cargo On Hand on our website.

n       Registration is not necessary for those wanting to view Tropical News, Contact Information, Search Rates, Payment On-Line or anything not associated with the viewing of a specific shipment or job number on the website.

Q: How do I register for a tropical.com web user account?

A: It's as easy as 1-2-3:

1. Click 'New User Registration' from the tropical.com Home page
2. Complete the New User Registration form
3. Click 'Registration Request' at the bottom of the form

Q: Can anyone else register me?

A: Your designated Account Administrator can register you to a specific account by using the Register New User feature in the Manage My Account tool.

 * Only the Webmaster can grant Account Administrator access. *

Q: Why can't I log on to my tropical.com web user account?

A: You will be unable to log on until you have registered for and received your Tropical Shipping User ID and Password.

Once you receive your User ID and Password, remember that our passwords are alpha-numeric and case-sensitive, so you can simply copy and paste your User ID and Password directly from our email into the Login window for immediate access.

Q: Can I get a new password just by clicking on Forgot Password on the Home page?

A: Yes.

It is important to remember that a new and unique Password will be generated and emailed to you each time the Forgot Password link is used. The new password will be emailed to the address you used for registration -- which is also your Tropical Shipping User ID. If you have selected Forgot Password several times, please use only your most recently emailed Password.

Q: Can I change my Password?

A: Yes.

Once you have successfully logged in with the Password provided, simply go to Manage My Account (found in the On-Line Tools dropdown menu of the website) and choose a new password that adheres to the simple set of rules established by Tropical Shipping (displayed for your convenience on the same page).

Q: Can I log in once and access my multiple accounts?

A: Yes.

Tropical.com enables web customers to access to multiple accounts with a single sign-on through the use of a Master and Sub-Account hierarchy on existing customer accounts.

Q: Can I see other users on my account?

A: Yes -- if you are the account Administrator.

The 'Manage Users' feature of Manage My Account shows account Administrators all registered users tied to their account(s).
Administrators can:

  •  Create and grant access to tropical.com for other employees and associates, i.e. Customs Brokers
  •  Edit profiles of other web accounts administrators, employees and associates for their company
  •  Remove access of web account administrators, employees and associates

    Q: Are there categories of web users?

    A: Yes -- tropical.com employs four levels of user access.

    Administrator:

  •  Create and grant access to tropical.com for other employees and associates, i.e. Customs Brokers
  •  Edit profiles of other web accounts administrators, employees and associates for their company
  •  Remove access of web account administrators, employees and associates

     * Only the Webmaster can grant Account Administrator access. *

    Employee:

  •  Edit your personal profile with the exception of your e-mail address (user i.d.).

    Associate:

  •  View and track cargo for the customer who gave you access to the account
  •  View and print documentation as governed by consignee

    No Web Access:

  •  You will no longer be able to access any account information

    Q: Does everything under On-Line Tools require a User ID and Password?

    A: No.

    Payment On-Line, Search Rates and Need Help? do not require login to view. The other tools located in this section do require login to view.
