Tropical Shipping Announces Electronic Export Information (EEI) Preparation Fee Increase

September 26, 2008 -- Due to recent increases in costs to meet export requirements, effective October 26, 2008, Tropical Shipping will implement a $10 increase to the Electronic Export Information (EEI) preparation fee (formally called the Shippers Export Declaration or SED).

This increase will apply to all shipments between the U.S. and Anguilla, Antigua, Barbados, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Montserrat, Nevis, Puerto Rico, Saba, St. Barths, St. Croix, St. Eustatius, St. John, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, St. Vincent, Tortola, Trinidad, Turks and Caicos Islands and Virgin Gorda.

The Electronic Export Information (EEI) preparation charge is applicable when Tropical Shipping is requested by the customer to prepare an EEI in accordance with the U.S. Customs Regulation. In order for Tropical to complete an EEI the shipper must provide the following information:

  • Exporters Identification Number (EIN) or Social Security Number
  • Letter of Authorization
  • Commercial invoices which allow Tropical to accurately produce an EEI

    September 26, 2008 -- Due to recent increases in costs to meet export requirements, effective October 26, 2008, Thompson Line will implement a $10 increase to the Electronic Export Information (EEI) preparation fee (formally called the Shippers Export Declaration or SED) for all shipments between the U.S. and the Cayman Islands.

    The Electronic Export Information (EEI) preparation charge is applicable when Thompson Line is requested by the customer to prepare an EEI in accordance with the U.S. Customs Regulation. In order for Tropical to complete an EEI the shipper must provide the following information:

  • Exporters Identification Number (EIN) or Social Security Number
  • Letter of Authorization
  • Commercial invoices which allow Tropical to accurately produce an EEI
