Tropical Shipping Announces Bunker Surcharge Increase for Shipments between the U.S. or Canada and the Turks & Caicos Islands
August 17, 2009 -- Due to current market trends that have resulted in higher crude oil prices, Tropical Shipping will implement a bunker surcharge increase, effective September 6, 2009.
Tropical Shipping continuously monitors these trends throughout the year and the WTI has been steadily increasing and closed on Monday at $71.58 and the four week average is at $67 per barrel. Therefore, effective September 6, 2009 the following bunker surcharge increase will apply to shipments between the Continental U.S. or Canada and the Turks & Caicos Islands.
