Due to the increasing cost of non fuel related operational expenses, our ability to sustain and invest in the service you have come to expect has been impacted.

In order to continue to provide the highest quality, on-time shipping services, effective October 4, 2009, Tropical Shipping will implement a General Rate Increase (GRI) for shipments between the U.S., or Canada and the following ports:

Anguilla, Antigua, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Nevis, St. Barths, St. Kitts, St. Maarten, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, and Trinidad.

The General Rate Increase, effective October 4, 2009 will be as follows:

Vehicles not exceeding 700 CFT	$45.00
Vehicles exceeding 700 CFT	$3.50
Breakbulk; W/M (ST/FT)	$3.50
CWT for LCL –100 lbs	$0.50
CFT for LCL - 1 cft	$0.25
Barrel - Each	$0.14
Pallet - Each	$7.00

This increase will apply to all tariff and service contract rates for dry and refrigerated cargo and will give us the financial resources to continue to invest in our operations to better service our customers.
