General Rate Increase for Shipments between Caucedo and the Eastern Caribbean, Guyana and the Virgin Islands
October 24, 2008 -- As part of our commitment to the customers and communities we serve, Tropical Shipping strives to deliver the best competitive transportation value. Due to the increasing cost of operations, our ability to sustain and invest in the service you have come to expect has been impacted.
In order to continue to provide the highest quality, on-time shipping services, an increase in our ocean freight rates is now warranted. Therefore, effective November 21, 2008, Tropical Shipping will implement a General Rate Increase (GRI) for shipments between Caucedo, Dominican Republic and Anguilla, Antigua, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Montserrat, Nevis, Saba, St. Barths, St. Croix, St. Eustatius, St. John, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, St. Vincent, Tortola, Trinidad and Virgin Gorda.
The General Rate Increase, effective November 21, 2008, will be as follows:
$50 per 20’ Container
$100 per 40’ Container
This increase will apply to all tariff and service contract rates for dry and refrigerated cargo and will give us the financial resources to continue to invest in our operations to better service our customers.
Tropical Shipping values its close relationships we have built with our customers throughout our 46-year history. Thank you for choosing us as your carrier of choice to The Bahamas and the Caribbean.
