Consolidating the South Florida LCL Receiving Facilities
Tropical Shipping will consolidate the West Palm Beach LCL Cargo Facility into its 165,000 sq. foot Miami based warehouse facility located in Medley, FL.
Poor economic conditions continue to impact the shipping volumes of the customers we serve in the Bahamas and Caribbean region. Unfortunately, we do not see a substantial recovery in the near term. As a result, it no longer makes good financial sense to continue to operate two separate South Florida LCL facilities when all the volumes can effectively be handled in the larger Miami Facility.
Tropical is committed to remaining economically competitive while providing the highest levels of service, security and efficiency that our customers have come to expect. In keeping with these commitments, we have made the decision to combine our South Florida LCL facilities and as a result we will be closing the West Palm Beach LCL receiving facility 
located at Martin Luther King Blvd., effective April 2, 2010.
The following changes will take place as we transition the cargo from our West Palm Beach LCL facility to our LCL facility in Miami:
LCL import cargo will move back to the Port of Palm Beach prior to April 2, 2010.
West Palm Beach LCL facility customer services and documentation activities will be relocated to the Port of Palm Beach office.
West Palm Beach LCL customers can begin to transition their cargo immediately. In order to ensure that there is a seamless transition for our large volume and consolidation customers, we would encourage you to contact your sales representative to assist you with moving your cargo to our Miami LCL facility.
LCL Refrigerated Cargo to select destinations will continue to be delivered to Port of Palm Beach Cold Storage.
Customers can also take advantage of Tropical's National Pickup Service -- available anywhere in the continental United States and the metro areas of Toronto and Montreal, Canada -- this service allows Tropical customers to arrange for shipment of dry, commercial LCL cargo to our Miami LCL facility with just one phone call.
