Tropical Shipping Races For The Cure

Tropical Shipping is proud to have been a part of the 18th Annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, which saw more than 22,000 people come together in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida on January 31, 2009 to raise money, awareness and hope in the fight against breast cancer.

In addition to gathering donations from friends and family, the Tropical Team hosted events in our facilities in south Florida to raise additional funds. These events included selling raffle tickets for prizes, a bake sale and barbecue.

A special thanks to Merchants Export, one of our customers, for donating all of the food that made our barbecue a huge success.

Because of the extraordinary efforts of our staff, we surpassed our goal and raised $9,079.10, which enabled Tropical Shipping to finish 8th in fund-raising out of the 569 competing teams.

Tropical believes that people are our priority. As a result, we believe we are responsible to the communities in which we live and work, which is why we commit to actively engage in service to those communities.

According to the federal National Cancer Institute, an estimated 182,500 women and almost 2,000 men were diagnosed with breast cancer last year.

Thanks to early detection and advances in treatment, more people are beating cancer every year and Tropical Shipping is proud to take a stance on helping this worthy cause.
