Enhanced Options for Web Customers
As part of our continued commitment to provide a superior customer experience, Tropical Shipping has added 12 new types of documents available for web-customer upload and we have enhanced our Event Notifications section to include a seventh notification type - Bill of Lading Issued.
Since the debut of tropical.com in February 2006, we have worked diligently to provide our web customers with the most advanced shipping-related tools possible. “Staying on the cutting edge of customer-friendly technology is a driving force behind our website,” said Rick Murrell, President of Tropical Shipping.
In addition to the Shipper’s Letter of Instruction, which web customers have always been able to upload from their computers directly into our customer database via their tropical.com account, web users can now upload the following additional document types online:

Uploading time-sensitive and shipment-critical information has never been easier!
And our updated Event Notifications feature makes staying up-to-date about the movement of your cargo even better, as well.
A fitting companion to our comprehensive Cargo Tracking tool, the Event Notifications feature gives web customers even greater control over shipments by offering real-time notification of select events related to the movement of cargo.
Event Notifications are part of the Manage My Account tool and allow web customers to request email or SMS text message updates about one or more of the following notification events:
Vessel Arrival
Vessel Departure
Cargo Receipt Warehouse
Cargo Released
Cargo Loaded on Vessel
Cargo Discharged from Vessel
Bill of Lading Issued
* Please note: The Cargo Receipt Warehouse and Cargo Released notifications pertain to LCL cargo only.
Tropical web customers can choose to receive these custom alerts either by e-mail or SMS message to a mobile device, such as a cell phone or BlackBerry.
Tropical web customers currently enjoy a variety of customizable on-line tools, such as advanced Cargo Tracking, streamlined document printing, the ability to upload a Shipper’s Letter of Instruction directly to their tropical.com account, the option to export any on-line account information directly to an Excel spreadsheet, the multi-faceted Manage My Account feature and so much more!
As always, when we make new features available through our website, we update our Customer Tutorials to make it easier for our web customers to use our On-Line Tools. The videos are another part of our continued commitment to customer service and will help make it easier and more convenient to do business with us on-line.
