SPOTLIGHT’S ON!
Security
Security is a priority for everyone, but it's nothing new to Tropical Shipping.
We’ve committed to the utmost levels of security to protect our customers and employees and every Tropical Shipping employee is prepared to make security the highest priority. As a result, security awareness training is mandated for all Tropical Shipping employees.
Terminal and facility security
In Tropical Shipping’s port facilities, for example, we maintain our own in-house security staff. These officers are assisted by more than 144 state-of-the-art closed-circuit television systems monitoring our Miami and Port of Palm Beach locations. All facilities are lighted, fenced and patrolled 24 hours a day. All of our warehouses have constantly monitored alarm systems and our warehouses also contain locked security cages for high-value cargo that are under 24/7 Closed Circuit Television surveillance.
Security for cargo en route
When cargo is en route, Tropical Shipping utilizes specific policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of protection throughout the shipping process. Container weight is always verified to ensure carriers have not been compromised.
Double Seal Program
As a security leader, Tropical Shipping has established security protocols, such as our unique Double Seal Program, which is designed to prevent cargo tampering. Now both doors on all full container load shipments holding consumable cargo must be sealed immediately after cargo is loaded. What’s more, the program uses only high-integrity, tamper-proof seals that meet International Shipping Organization standards and are approved by the Department of Homeland Security.
Domestic and international partnerships
Not surprisingly, Tropical Shipping has become widely recognized as a leader in maritime security because of its close and extensive cooperation with responsible authorities, including the Department of Homeland Security.
