Tropical Shipping Announces a Canadian Terminal Energy Cost Adjustment Surcharge, Effective May 1, 2026

April 1, 2026

As part of our commitment to the customers and the communities we serve, Tropical Shipping wishes to advise customers of an upcoming adjustment related to terminal handling costs.  The Canada Port Terminal has implemented an Energy Cost Adjustment (ECA) due to sustained increases in diesel fuel prices—driven in part by ongoing geopolitical developments in the Middle East.

Until further notice, Tropical Shipping will be implementing a Terminal ECA surcharge of $30.00 per container, effective May 1, 2026, to offset the impact of these increased costs.

Tropical Shipping values its close relationships we have built with our customers throughout our more than 60-year history. Thank you for choosing us as your carrier of choice to The Bahamas and the Caribbean.
