Guidelines for Shipping Your Vehicle
To ensure timely processing and loading of your vehicle, please review the following requirements before delivery to a Tropical terminal:
- A Tropical Booking Number will be required upon delivery of your vehicle to Tropical Shipping. Please contact our Customer Service Department at: (800)-638-TROP (8767) to obtain a Booking Number.
- Keys must be provided for all doors, ignition, and compartments.
- Required documents must be submitted in advance or at drop-off
- Federal regulations (CFR 176.905[d]), require that there is less than ¼ tank of fuel.
- Propane tanks must be empty
- Remove all loose items and personal effects from the vehicle, including the trunk.
- Any part/item that would normally be permanently installed in/on the vehicle, but is loose or not bolted in, should be removed.
- Anti-theft Alarm Systems – If you leave the car alarm system in your vehicle, make sure that the system is disengaged prior to delivery to Tropical.
Important: Vehicles must be in a safe, drivable condition, capable of normal operation on public streets or highways when tendered for shipment to be considered an “operable vehicle”. Non-operable vehicles that have been accepted for shipment will be loaded into a container with the use of a forklift, and a Hold Harmless Waiver must be signed before the vehicle is loaded.

Guidelines for Shipping Your EV or HEV Vehicle
- Any EV/HEV that has an accident in its Carfax history will not be accepted
- Any EV/HEV that has been used as a rental vehicle will not be accepted
- Must provide VIN prior to booking.
- Used EV/HEV (over 200 miles) must provide recent (2 weeks) Car Fax.
- State of Charge must be greater than 30% and less than 50%.
- If vehicle has over 200 miles, certification form to be completed by owner.
