Equipment

Our cargo handling equipment is flexible enough to accommodate everything from small packages and individual pallets to machine parts, garments and fresh produce. Tropical Shipping has more than 12,000 containers to suit your needs.

To assist in port operations, Tropical Shipping owns and operates a wide range of equipment, including chassis, container cranes, straddle carriers, jockey trucks and reach stackers.

 

Container, Steel

The most commonly used shipping containers; these dry containers come in various dimensions standardized by ISO. They are used for shipping of dry materials and come in size of 20ft, 40 ft and 10ft.

Flatrack

With collapsible end, these are like simple storage shipping containers where the sides can be folded so as to make a flat rack for shipping of wide variety of goods

Open Top

These container have an open top so that materials of any height can be shipped easily.

Reefer, Electric

These are temperature regulated shipping containers that always have a carefully controlled low temperature. They are exclusively used for shipment of perishable substances like fruits and vegetables over long distances.

•   Tropical has a variety of specialized equipment to meet your needs.

•   Cargo weight includes all packaging and dunnage. It is the gross vehicle weight, less tractor, chassis and container tare weights.

•   Overweight permits may be available for containers.

•   CFS/CFS (Container Freight Station to Container Freight Station) means stuffed/unstuffed at the Port.

     *20’ Flatrack side openings are equivalent to 18’6”

     *40’ Flatrack side openings are equivalent to 38’3”
