Tropical Shipping Announces an Increase in the Current Waiting Time Charge and Establishes an Inland Layover Charge

As part of our commitment to the customers and the communities we serve, Tropical Shipping strives to deliver the best competitive transportation value. We continue to experience heavy congestion and long wait times at customers warehouse locations.

In order to continue to provide the highest quality, on-time shipping services, effective September 05, 2021, Tropical Shipping will increase the Current Waiting Time Charge. Tropical will also establish an Inland Layover Charge effective September 19, 2021.

$200.00 for each additional half hour or fraction thereof

 

Driver arrives at 10am and leaves at 12:10pm:

· 10:00 am – 10:30 am = $ 0.00 (first 30 minutes free)

· 10:30 am – 12:00 pm = $600.00 (90 minutes Waiting Time @ $200 per30 minutes)

· 12:00 pm – 12:10 pm = $200.00 (10 minutes Waiting Time @ $200 per 30 minutes)

· 10:30 pm – 12:10 pm = $800.00 (100 minutes Total Waiting Time)

 

All locations other than Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee & St Lucie Counties

·11:00 am – 12:00 pm = $300.00 (1 hour Waiting Time @ $300 per hour)

·12:00 pm – 12:10 pm = $300.00 (10 minutes Waiting Time @ $300 per hour)

·10:30 pm – 12:10 pm = $600.00 (1 hour 10 minutes Total Waiting Time)

 

Layovers

Effective 09/19/2021, layovers must be pre-scheduled with the Tropical Shipping in advance. Customer must contact Tropical’s Customer Care Department to determine if layover charges will apply to a given route and to schedule the layover. Any stop that requires a driver to layover either by Customer's request or Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations will be charged $1,000.00
