Tropical Shipping Announces a Detention Surcharge for Use of Tropical Equipment within the Continental United States

As part of our commitment to the customers and communities we serve, Tropical Shipping strives to deliver the best competitive transportation value.  In order to continue to provide the level of service our customers have come to expect, when Tropical Shipping arranges the Inland Transportation for FCL shipments imported to the Port of Palm Beach, Tropical Shipping will assess a Detention Surcharge.

The charge will be applied per container and is in addition to all other inland charges found within Carrier's tariff and is effective 03/06/2022.

  • Import shipments: the first “day” starts the next calendar day after the equipment has been interchanged out from the Tropical’s facility per the Tropical Shipping Equipment Interchange Agreement
